    97 klx 300 brakes

Im having trouble getting either of my brakes to work on my klx 300, have put in fresh fluid and tried bleeding them but nothing, my dad who is a skilled mechanic believes it is the master cylinder, although unsure, anyone know where i can get one?
the front brakes grab but dont really stop the bike when riding, and the rears do nothing

I can't believe you ask on this forum when your dad is a skilled mechanic.
Find out what is wrong ....
If it is the master cylinders try to get somebody who knows what he is doing to service the old ones or (expensive) replace.
Opinions are like arseholes: Everybody has got one, but that doesn't mean you got to air it in public all the time....

what sort of chainsaws and mowers does he specialise in out of curiosity as they're about the only thing that doesn't have brakes, apart from jet skis?

Master cylinders indeed. How very unusual.

I had to replace the rear one on my GG recently, bit of a nightmare. I did manage to set it on fire, though.

OP, I would suspect sticky pistons and slide pins before the master cylinders.
    Manopausal.

There's alot that can go wrong there.
But if front & back are playing up, I'd go with
    - Disc's, how grooved are they ?
    - Pad's, like the disc's are they grooved/glazed/thin ?
    - Calipers, you've taken them apart & greased them ?, making sure they move easily ?.
    - You bled the brakes, was it forwards or backwards, I genuinely hate that job, but a syringe & pushing the bubbles back up is good.
    - You can get rebuild kits for the cylinders for like $40 ( I would try that before a new one personally )

It's really a step at a time, I'd start from the disk/calipers & move back to the master cylinder from there myself, but it'll just take time.

These guys have lots of stuff easy to get

I need all the skin I can get after my amateurish rear wheel bearing effort last night
