. I did not bother with doing figure 8s or riding around cones.

I had several bikes before I even got a licence - never did any training course ... thought I didn't need them. (Too cool for school).

I'd been riding bikes for about 10 years when my wife made it a condition of getting a new bike that I did a training course .. I wanted the bike so I agreed and went to the course ...

I discovered I was not able to ride around the cones and do figure of eights ... frustrating ...

That was when I really started to learn to ride a bike ... I don't do training courses regularly - but every one I have done I have learnt something. And I've been a better rider after every one.

40 plus years of riding - some pretty hairy situations - and I'm still alive - BECAUSE I did that that basic training course (and a few others)

If you think you do not need a training course - you are very very wrong. And dangerous ...

Just find a Dick (or Richard will do) who is a bad driver and your campaign is saved....... thank me later but putting our roads back up to 100
