90% of all Harleys built are still on the road... The other 10% made it back home...
Ducati... Makeing riders into mechaincs since 1964...
looks interesting!
from what I can find it'll be close to 180kg dry with 71hp??
hard to compare that against the KTM 790 ADV with similar weight but 103 hp?
still though, it's all in the suspension / handling on a middleweight adv bike, so time will tell
Very cool. A motard version would be the bees.
Rod Faggotter? That must have been tough growing up.
I'm a visual person - I like form. Sometimes over function.
Fair to say most adventure bikes do not do it for me physically.
That new Yammy has a look though - I like it.
And bugger me I reckon I could get on the seat without stool.
Looks good from many angles.
Stephane Peterhansel is promoing the T7 in Africa at the mo. All the promo stuff so far is dirty, I hope that is a big clue to the bikes focus.
IMHO Yamaha would be daft if the show room bike differs too much from this prototype but they may release 2 options, full blown Rally Raid and soft trailie. We shall see.
Personally I'm looking forward to the release. I can't get my head around 1000cc "Adventure" bikes. 700cc will be more than enough to get me in the crap.

This guy breaks it down pretty good.... would love Yamaha to prove me wrong though...
Was getting a hard on for the KTM790 but looking at what the street (Duke) version is weighing in at (169kg dry) I still prefer the bigger 1090 (207kg dry). Pricing on duke is appealing though....
Because in reality we spend more time getting to the adventure bits than in them, and really most ADV riding in NZ is fairly tame gravel rd stuff where you could take front wheel drive car anyway.
A big heavy bike appeals to me as less affected by extra weight of luggage and camera gear as % of overall mass and power to open road overtake safer fully loaded....

TBH - fairly underwhelming considering the opportunity (and time taken to get to this point, let alone market)
Looks pretty cool though!
Yeah, a lot of people seem underwhelmed but it's what I expected, and want, to be fair.
The Japanese manufacturers are generally quite conservative. Ok, the Niken, H2
I think it's a pretty good compromise of long distance ability, civility and off road capability. Looks like it will get to most places eventually. Certainly all the places I'm brave enough to take a 700cc bike.

2H 2020 @____________@ why so long?
Finally, a review I can understand.
