BMW 9Cento (concept) Build it please!

I like this. Will it make the production line? I hope. Coming from an early adopter of the F800S when it came out I would be tempted by this. The F800 lacked power for me, maybe another 100c will be enough to enjoy.

Unlike most concepts that are usually all style and won't work in the real world this could be a stylish, fun and practical bike all at the same time. Small enough to be a good commuter, light yet enough power (900cc parallel twin) to provide some excitement, enough weather protection to tour while still looking racy.

Not sure the handbag sized panniers will do much though. Still the idea of magnet attaching quick clip on panniers has merit.
Mind you, is it that far removed from my current MT-09, with it's small screen, hand guards and soft throw over bags, what's the difference?

The prototype in these picture, courtesy of Motorcycledaily.com, looks damn near complete and production level ready so just maybe.. And that seat looks so well padded it must be super comfy.

I've read two reports on this... Looks interesting. One site says that while it's written as 9-Centro it's referred to as Nove-Centro, (Nova being Italian for nine). The other which has a soundtrack calls it as it is written; 9-Centro. Mind you that site is the Indian Car & Bike. And their command of the English language isn't the best on the planet.

BMW use an Italian Design studio, so that explains the name.

A bit of a stretch, but......

Being a TDM owner and fan boi, I've seen a street fighteresque 900 in Greece which really ticks that box, style wise. Turbo'd, too.

    THey did build it

So BMW have gone into production with this prototype and by all accounts it has retained most of the nice styling. Sure the trick rear end was always going to be in the too hard basket. Still I like the final look.

105 hp for 895cc twin is OK but won't have eye ball watering acceleration. Says me who bought the 85hp F800S way back and now only have 115hp to play with. I do miss the rush of serious hp sometimes though.

The F900 should be a smooth, fast enough, pleasant tourer. Super economical and cheap motor to maintain.
Oh there is a naked version as well but I won't inflict that image on you- the ugly sister so to speak. Best we don't talk about her.

This model looks very elegant and comfortable at the same time. I like the seat solution as well.

Looks can be deceiving and bikes normally come in multiple color schemes.

I'm not too sure about this though, without seeing it in person.

So which modern bike is not ugly in your humble opinion?
