We're planning on "Inverness" - unusual name but there's a history to it: One of my ancestresses (great great grandmother, I think - would have to consult the family tree and count on my fingers to be sure) had that name because she was born on the barque Inverness en route from Scotland to New Zealand (just goes to show the lengths to which the Scots will go to avoid an extra fare - "Git on th' boot, lass, afore ye starrrt showin'.") Mum had Inverness as a middle name. So, although it's the name of a city, it's also a family name.

"Named after the city in Scotland, huh?"

"Only indirectly - named after an ancestress who was named after a boat that was named after the city."

Cheers all for your well wishes.

at least from my impression of Wolf & Co I have a reasonable expectation that this will not be a child brought up in misery or poverty.

    which is good.

First of all Thank you people for your kind words.

    (now for my rant)

what you think Fish, but as for your post, here is my reply... Get over yourself - or is that too hard for you to do? No, getting pregnant is not as easy as taking your morning dump. As Wolf said before, we have friends who cannot get pregnant without the help of fertility drugs. I, too, have had my fair share of hard times. I have been pregnant in total, including this pregnancy, 17 times - out of which I have had four live children, only to lose my first born son to cot death at just 7 months old. I have 3 live boys, so as you can see, having a girl completes the family - or do you need me to spell that out to you, too?

I didn't join this site to have cat scraps with anyone, but you have just stepped on the wrong tail. If you didn't want to say anything kind about our news then why did you even bother to post anything? Or were you never told that if you havent got anything nice to say, don't say anything at all?

I personally find your post to be a little too sarcastic.

I joined this site because, like most people on this site, I have a love of motorbikes and I have made a lot of good friends here. If we have offended you in some way by sharing our good news with our friends, then that's your problem. If you don't like it, then I suggest you either get used to it or go crawl back under that rock you came from. We should be able to post what we like without you putting your 2 cents worth in.

To everyone else, I'm sorry for my rant but I can only take so much of my tail being stood on before I need to use the offender as a scratching post. [/rant]

CONGRATULATIONS on the announcement for the oncoming birth of a wee little girl. Well done.... Now to go and buy pink stuff.... lol.
(I guess Wolf finally held his tongue in the right direction to get a wee girl hehehe )

Strayjuliet you rant as much as you like girl.... and you dont have to explain a thing to Fish or anyone else. All the very best with little bubs.

Just put your feet up and enjoy this time.... and take care of yourself.

    Well said StrayJuliet!!!

Congrats to you and Wolf. It's good to hear some really positive news for a change!!! I hope you are keeping well and that all goes to plan for the rest of your pregnancy. You have certainly been through the rough times mate and there aren't many of us that know what it's like to lose a very young baby so suddenly.

I don't know you and Wolf personally but just look to your real friends on KB to keep on supporting you. That little girl will be on a bike of her own before you know it.

    Take care both of you.

    Thumbs up

    Congrats

As a side note, If I ever have children (God help us all) I don't think I'd want to know what sex it is before it was born, I'd like the surprise

As for the "snip snip" query asked before...was able to bike ride two days afterward, but baggy pants even felt "tight." No problems really.

Congrats and enjoy as I'm sure you will. Me thinks Fish is off your tail now and has just lost a lot of scales!

Well said Strayjuliet, sorry to hear of your past losses, absolutely devastating.

    Well done to you both.

Wanna buy a people mover van??????????????
