    Stolen reward offered

Not my bike but saw it on Trade Me today.

He's offering a reward (I assume money and not sexual favors).

Very sad story, with ZERO chance of getting the bike back.

How he managed to give the insurance company a chance to not pay, beggars belief

That's what I was thinking too, but the owner should know the name of the test rider then surely? I heard a similar case where a test ride ended in the bike being written-off and insurance wouldn't pay out. It's probably stripped for parts now, the owner must be fuming.
