The age of consent in Virginia is 18. If the girl is under 15, as this one was, he'll likely be treated as a paedophile. He's potentially facing a very uncomfortable "life" term in prison.

Richmond was the capital of the south during the Civil War and Virginia is very much a "southern" state.

I had a long correspondence with a resident of Richmond, he sent me a photo of his new computer setup once. There was a .44 Ruger Blackhawk to hand on top of the scanner.

His computer room was upstairs, one day there was a knock on the front door.
He stuck his head out the window and asked, "Can I help you?"
It was a salesman, looking up he launched into his spiel, "What would you do if I was a burglar?"
Our man reached down picked up a .45 carbine, poked it out the window, "I'd blow yer ass off".
The salesman suddenly had urgent business elsewhere.

Door to door selling in Richmond could be dangerous - breaking and entering in Virginia is definitely not a smart move.

Shit like that has happened in NZ. And in the states is a regular occurrence. Just doesn't get reported as it's fake "news" ...
