Question mid 80's VT250F Special Edition

Hello from the USA! My name is John and I'm here looking for some information. I bought this from a friend who brought it back from Japan. In searching the web, I'm having a hard time finding much of anything about it. I think I have seen some info on it on New Zealand websites before. I'm looking for info about the year/ compatible models for spare parts/ value (worth restoring or just getting it going). Any info you can help me with would be appreciated. The VIN is MC081146179 just in case there is a VIN guru out there who can decode it for me

Thanks, your two-wheeled American friend, John.

p.s. I cannot upload my images, however, this is what it looks like.

proberly 85 model the 83. ones didnt have square tube frames they had round tubular terlis frames.

i got some spare good wheels black from 83. the engines can do there con rod bearing shells
bit notorious for that early models . i brought a vt 250 and the con rod bearinghs where toast on rear cylinder. brought a cheap spare motor and they where the same . so i got complate vt250 minus engine if anyone wants it pick it up take it away.
