Shop Class is Dissmissed. A sad Story

I placed this article i found under 'Bike Mechanics" as it seems more relevent in this Thread. As i am getting back into the Classic bikes i rode in the 60s and 70s its a very interesting read, your thoughts.

Never mind the words, the photography in that article is outstanding.

I went on a couple of shop days recently, one to show you what you could make with little more than a vice with 40mm angle former and basic panel tools. The other was a day on the English Wheel.

The day flew past. I'd like one on Tig welding sheetmetal but I don't think there is one.
Got me motivated to do some work on my 71 VW Kombi.
Ordered all the sheetmetal today that was not available when i first rebuilt it in 98-01
Think I'll got to Machinery House this week to buy some of them fancy clamps and other sheetmetal goodies.

DeMyer's Laws - an argument that consists primarily of rambling quotes isn't worth bothering with.
