Don’t know anything about them but found this
https://auction.catawiki.com/kavels/...-3-speeds-1968
Yours looks to have had some mods done
Thats looks like it yeah, there doesn't seem to be much info on them, the guy tells me he bought it for 700 so am just trying to gauge value
Yep, cheers for that
Missing the original motor it appears - that will significantly drop it's value.
Do a Google image search as it looks to me like the frame has been butchered.
Yeah thats the thing, i like the bike but being so butchered i don't want to lose money on it, in its current state with the honda motor do you reckon i could get 5 or 6 for it if i needed too?
Cheers
At the end of the day it’s only worth what someone is willing to pay and only way to find out is take the risk on trademe with low res
Yep sounds like it, seems like a fun project so might pick it up
I had a 49cc yellow model (pictured below) and dad had a 65cc blue (similar to that pictured below).
They were fun to ride and could go a few places off road ... the 65cc one had 4 gears (1 up and 3 down. The 50cc was an auto)
Nothing remarkable/historical/collectible about them. Buying to make a profit is unlikely. Finding the original parts is unlikely (If you can, they'll not be cheap) .
The bike you have been offered would have been a dirt bike and has been said ... has been "modified" ... A 24 pack should suffice for payment (if it runs).
Many years ago ... I had a Benelli 650 twin (Tornado) that I wouldn't mind having again ... :devil2:
When life throws you a curve ... Lean into it ...
Thanks for the info, turns out it comes with the rest of the ct90 so worst comes to worst i can put it back
Ironically a running CT90 will easily fetch the $700 the guy is talking about for the lot. So in theory put the CT back together and sell it to someone as a great distinguished gentleman's ride project and flick off the Benelli rolling chassis via TM to someone who already has one or two and looking for parts.
Shit you may clear a grand if the auction gods smile on you
Haha thats what i was thinking, cheers for that. Will see what kinda condition the ct bits are in
