New "Bike"... Let the jokes begin.

So... I was looking for a cheap commuter recently for a daily 25km round trip... And ended up with this. $80 a year rego, 3 year WOFs. And to be honest it's a hoot to ride.

Man, I've always wanted to have a play on one of those sorts of bikes. Especially since Yammie announced the Niken!

Enjoy it, own it, screw the haters!

Nothing beats a moped for a trip down town and Mat Oxley, former GP rider, TT winner and lap record holder, rides a Yamaha 400 scooter. If any jokers do turn up it's quite possible you'll get the last laugh one cold wet morning.

There is an amazing review of the engineering in these in one of the current motorbike mags. Apparently their cornering speeds are really high compared with a normal bike. But surely they are trikes? Have fun!

Just over 5k, but I'm saving $100 a week on fuel alone... Plus I'm less stressed when I get home. They really are a blast to ride. Only weakness is the rubbish rear shocks which I have the guy from Yamaha NZ checking out for me tomorrow.

May I refer you to Webike, if you're thinking of replacing any parts?

    https://japan.webike.net/YAMAHA/TRICITY+155/13801/mtop/

That's where I get all my gear for my little Yamaha Scoot! Everything from OEM replacements to USD forks, extended swingarms, performance exhaust systems, big bore kits, etc etc!

Next bonus from work, I'm going to see if they still make the full carbon fairing kit for my little Cygnus.. Because life is too short to be serious and boring.

Oh lovely. My postie does his rounds on one, what he does on slippy, steep drive ways melts my head.

I really fancied a Piaggio MP3 hybrid for commuting, same layout, bit more oomph, even cheaper to run, much heavier and a lot pricier.

Most excellent bit of design. When the Niken appears it will be the first bike in decades I would like to test ride. Just for the hell of it.

Even a Tricity maxi scoot would grab my attention as a countryside commuter.

    Webike is the shiz.

Good on you for doing something a bit different. I've always been intrigued by the design, any chance of a detailed review at some stage?
