    3D printing

Anyone with a 3D printer in the Welly area who could make a component for me ? (paid for of course). I have an STL file and the item is a case for an Arduino plus a shield board. TIA
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.
those cheap ass bitches can do anything with ductape.

I discovered today that the National Library in Wellington does 3D printing but only up to a certain size so have sent them the .STL for an estimate

Its a case for an Arduino and shield board.

    Thanks

As per previous reply the National Library in Wellington has 3D printers so hopefully they will be able to help. Not urgent. Thanks

NatLib came back to me with a price - $5!! They charge a nominal fee about $1 per hour and materials. The service is probably aimed at kids projects. Thy couldn't make the box I wanted in the size specced and suggested either reducing in size or breaking the file into the two parts (box and lid). I have no idea whatsoever of how to edit the .STL file so not going anywhere at present.
But it's nice to know that (for small items anyway) the option is there.

Price is a surprise but then 3D printing is a bit of a mystery to me! - - Thanks for the update!

Have a look at these guys

    https://www.shapeways.com/

I've had something done through them - top quality but also a bit spendy.
