    Future Cop Cars

With the V6 Commy out of production what are the Police going to use in the future?

I spied a VW speed camera van on this mornings ride.

With this current special government they may have to go semi electric!

Large powerful sedans are pretty much restricted to the higher end Euro market now - I cannot see Audis, VW, Beemers in the budget.

Cost of ownership on the 5 series beemers the government bought for politicians, was lower than that of the Australian shit.

Ausie cops have Hyundai cars too.

I dunno how much that is worth. The item refers to peppier spec cars for HP use. A former HP man of long standing, recently retired, told me that the NZ Police have no "pursuit" vehicles. Engine wise their Holdens are basically no different to a taxi.

You thought (and wrongly) that it was worth starting a thread over it ...

Could be a good thread if the NZG were outfitting the Popo with some high performance pursuit vehicles

But nah - looks like they will be applying some Green Party based back off it speeds hit 160 policy application to their vehicles.

Holden must pretty much give them the cars to keep the contract.

No need for high performance pursuit vehicles ... if they don't stop after the chase initially begins ... they terminate the chase in the interest of safety.

And that's the biggest load of crap ever.
Dubai would like you to think a lot of things that aren't.
You wouldn't see anything approaching that even if you were there for a month.
