    Cool Gday from Christchurch!

    Hi All,

I'm Simon. Currently ride an 07 GSXR600. I've been riding for a few years now and have ummed and ahhed about getting into racing. A recent trip to Japan for the MotoGP was the last kick in the a** I needed..

So here I am, looking to scope out some info. Leaning towards 250 production at the moment.

    Cheers!

I've got several friends who got into racing with 250 proddy's. It's good to get a sense for if you want to take it further, also great for working on flow and corner speed compared to the point-and-squirt racing that my local track gets from litre bikes. There are a few regulars who have even downgraded from modern thou's to some 250's and 300's to work on their corner speed :P

    Start small, grow, and improve!

Hey mate, yup that's bang on the money for my reasoning, plus the other big consideration of dollars and cents. I've had the 600 out at Ruapuna and it's a blast but even that's a bit much to really focus on learning good braking and cornering etc etc.

If you know of a bike for sale I'm all ears

Well, I've got a couple but I do live in another country at the mo'

If you can be fucked paying freight and enjoy a bit of a project, I've got a pair of MC19 CBR250R track bikes looking for a new home :P

Sounds like I'd spent more on freight than bike
