    Bobber mods for 1988 intruder.

    Afternoon everyone.
I recently got my old 88 intruder running again and want to work on bringing in the old school bobber look.
I have recently asked a shop in the US that does custom hot rod and motorcycle parts and has solid strut supports to replace the original coil overs on the back to bring the back end down and make it solid.
    Questions before i buy these.
    Will these require a recert?
It still uses the original bike connections but just replace the suspension and replace the seat with a aftermarket solo.
    Any help would be great.

If you're that keen just do it, and just get a WOF check.
Personally I think you'll need a re-cert for your arse - our roads aren't good enough for a hardtail bike.
Put your springs on a shelf - you'll end up refitting them.

I had a bobber Intruder for years, but left the springs on... you can still get the look you're after.

Any cutting and welding needs certified. Take the receipt/info to a bike shop or the local testing station ... to confirm it isn't going to be your welding. If they have an issue with it ...

    Thanks for the insight.
I got hold of a few people and it does seem to require a new cert. Which i found odd as the parts are already machined and have the paperwork with them. I was just swapping part for part.
Oh well, ill still do it and just get a cert done.
