A pic of my old bucket

While looking for something else in me 'puter I found a pic of my old CB-125 Twin bucket racer I built and raced back in 1993.
Had a total loss ignition, bit of cam and flowing work. Used to pull 15,000rpm no worries and quite tractable. Sounded great with the 2:1.

I made it look like the Freddie Spencer superbike but with a Marlboro colour scheme.

Thought you may have been interested.

    Cheers
    Chris

I sold it to Dave McDonald, who was back then the owner of Cycletreads, but after that, I dunno.

Basically it was good but not quite good enough to stay with the hot 2-strokes. So I had to build one of those.

So this is what I came up with, a GP 100 based bucket.

I only raced it a couple of times, and then got into RS-125 racing instead, as I got a demon deal on an '89 machine that really flew.

I sold it to another bucket racing guy, who developed it a bit more and did quite well on it.

I'd love to get back into buckets and build another 125 Twin.
    Should do really.

thats pretty cool man. i should do the same with my gpz 400r ninja race engine....well it has race cams.....and four redone carbs......i should get a gn frame of my mate in welly nad a welder......i'm serious you know...... holy shit that would be the worlds fastest gn at probably 55hp/less that standard weight and gpz brakes.....or maybe i could use my gpz bits and make a new frame out of that go-kart i still have.... this could cost alot.....or i could be rangi....

those are all cool. But personally i like to make my buckets look as far from real race bikes as possible, they still have a shitload of power and handle/brake well though. Just me wanting to be different i supose
There is no dark side of the moon, really, as a matter of fact. Its all dark...

Kawie G4's were good. Could get to make lots of power but the achilles-heal I found was the gearboxes. Lots of false neutrals.

    Nice looking machine though

I liked my to look like race-repli's, but that's the beauty of buckets, only limited by your imagination !!
