Anonymity

I would like to know why so many Posters on Forums go to such lengths to maintain "anonymity".

I may be a bit naive on this matter but I would like to know the reason.

I came on here to interact with other motorcyclists and there are some really interesting characters on this forum but how do you get to know each other if you don't know who where what why etc.

If you're talking about peaple like me that don't have the town they live in on each post, does it matter? As long as they show up for rides every now and then lol.

It's the ones that no one ever sees on KB rides that you have to worry about...
