    Experience shipping Australia to NZ?

I'm a Kiwi living in Sydney, looking to move back permanently to Wellington in May. I own a 2017 Triumph Street Triple R. I'm considering whether to sell and re-buy in NZ or ship this bike, and it seems like shipping is a much better option financially. Bikes are far more expensive in NZ and I got an incredible deal on this bike ($12,900 for the demo model with about 100km on the odo).

I'm considering a company called WillShip which unlike most shipping/moving companies has great reviews on Google and Facebook.

Anyone gone this route before? I'm banking on about $2k to ship the bike and $1k to get a new VIN and registration, am I in the right ballpark? I'm not too worried if shipping is slow as I'll be too busy to ride much in my first few weeks anyway.

I'll be shipping a one bedroom apartment worth of stuff - bed, desk, fridge, tallboy, some shelves, TV, etc. I'm considering using a separate MoveCube for this. Are you thinking I might be better off consolidating these together? My reasoning is that vehicles should be handled by a specialist, but obviously I'm not very experienced here.

I'm planning a move from Hobart in the next year and a bit. I'm just going to crate my bikes, load all my music gear and furniture into a 20' containter and find a haulage company to take it all to Chch.

If you're happy to send the bike on its own, check out Get Routed. I've got some mates who have used them to freight to The Isle of Man and say that it was great. I know they do NZ too so might be worth a squizz.

They've got a nifty way of shipping bikes with no crates and I'm pretty sure they operate out of Melbourne and Sydney

Get Routed looks like a great company, unfortunately it's Christchurch only and I'm going to Wellington. I will take a look into 20' container options, unfortunately I don't think I have enough stuff to justify it, but maybe it'll end up cheaper anyway. Do you know how much you'll be looking at for a 20'?

I've had a few quotes at around $10k-ish door to door but I can't find any of them and it's not a huge priority at this point. I'd have to sell my house first to pay for the move so yeah can't help with that sorry. There are a handful of companies out there who can give you quotes online though so I'm sure you won't find it hard to find one.

I'd just be selling the big stuff & buying new stuff here with the proceeds of sales combined with the money saved on freight.
GT logistics in Andrew Baxter Drive Auckland do bikes for us on a commercial basis regularly.
    No complaints there.
They always seem to have plenty of bikes coming & going.
