Moving to Switzerland with a Restricted Motorcycle license

Good Afternoon,

Hoping someone can pass on some knowledge for me.

Later this year im moving to Switzerland and currently only have my restricted license. I cant get my full before i leave unfortunately.

Can i convert a restricted license over there into anything or do i have to start from scratch.

Any help would be appreciated.

Depending on your age and experience you may be able to talk your way into an A2 learners licence which is not too bad. The manfacturers mostly make bikes for that class of licence.

You may have to read it a few times but there is an outline of the Euro system here:

You have time to sort this out because, as the comments in that item suggest, nobody much is riding in Switzerland at this time of year.

This Wikipedia page has details of the AM, A1, A2, and A (full) motorcycle licences in table form. Note the lower power to weight allowed in Switzerland in the A2 class and the higher age limit for an A:

It appears they're conforming to the EU licence regime with some amendments. As are some of the EU countries. The age at which various licences can be attained varies from place to place f'rinstance.
