Need some opinion on few LAMS bikes

    Hi all,

I’m on restricted currently and haven’t ridden for over 16 months . Want to get a LAMS bike which is safe , fun and I can keep it for a bit after I have my full.

    I had ninja 300, SV650 and ST 660.
I test rode a new Ducati 659 and it seems well planted but don’t want to pay for a new bike and lose a lot .

I’m really keen to try a CB400 super four (2008 and newer) but those are rare .

Any one here owns one ? And if so what’s your experience ?

My other option is a ABS MT-07, I orgininally test rode them when they came out , twitch throttle and very soft from suspension put me off them. Is the ABS model have improvement ?

So I’m deciding between a new Ducati 659, CB400 super four ABS ( if I ever find one ), get a st660 again or MT07.

Not really my type of bike and inline 2s ( except the MT07 which has V firing ) are quite boring to me

Honda 650 BROS .. if you can find one for sale. The 400 BROS isn't a bad one to ride either. Again ... finding one for sale (that doesn't need work) is hard ...

Why are you still on restricted after all this time and bikes?

If you liked the MT, why not spend a few bucks (they are not a lot) and change the fork springs?

The Ducati will likely be down on performance compared to the MT07 and the Triumph 660. Then again it will look better parked outside the cafe. Depends what you want it for.

    Thanks all,

I did have 660 but I found ergonomics of it was not too right for me , and too expensive for a restricted bike .

Ducati 659 was a joy to ride and so compliant and looked the business . MT-07 would be my choice purely for just the torque .

I would love a RVF400 or CB400 SF but finding a good one is hard as . Had Mc22 but just too small and not too comfortable again .

Might settle for a MT-07 till get the full , then sell and buy a proper bike
