Seymour and Peters in cabinet together. I almost feel sorry for Luxon.

A CEO can get people to co-operate by either paying people more or firing them from the company. Luxon has neither of these options. Winston has beaten Seymour because NZ First is vital to the NACT coalition, whereas ACT is only there to make up the numbers. Winston also has the (very unlikely to happen, but, politics, eh?) option of going with a Labour/Green/Pati Maori and making them the government.

Just going back to the OP, is it not too late to send Winston to the middle east? Can someone ask Chris?
Only a Rat can win a Rat Race!
Agreed. Send either Seymour or Paters as emissary to Gaza.

Luxon is a beginner politician. Winston Peters has been around the block - multiple times.
Yesterday there was to be a "threesome" in Welington. (Truly awful imagery.) Peters remained in Auckland. Today Luxon, Seymour, and their retinues, travelled to Auckland to meet with Peters.

Winnie is feeling no pressure. All the public and media pressure is on Luxon and Seymour.
He knows this very well and will outwait the others to get what he wants.
I don't expect an agreement this week.
Winston’s certainly taught the media a lesson. They openly disrespected him and now wonder why he’s not giving them the sound bites they’d like.
I don’t think we are to far away from agreement it just feels like watching g paint dry because there is no daily progress report. And just remember it’s the overly long time to count special votes (thanks labour) that pushed it out three weeks to start with.
It was also loosely agreed in various media interviews prior to election that much of the negotiations would be between high level party officials and that the three amigos would all only need to be physically together near end of process.
Luxon wanted a strong stable govt so they are prob also making sure strong agreement and sense of unity before they front the public stage together.

You seem to think that Winston and Seymour are in this for anyone other than themselves. Luxon *might* have a shred of wanting to do the country some good, but that would quickly get subsumed by the bigger picture of personal wealth, prestige and a knighthood at the end. Recall the old adage about Guy Fawkes being the last person to enter Parliament with honest intentions.
