Dont peak out. Only a very small percentage of death threats are followed through with.
They probably think you are an undercover cop. Meth users are usually a bit paranoid.

    My first thought as well.

If it's out of the blue to receive this threat, talk to the blue team.

Years ago one of the US papers, the Washington Post or the New York Times, did an article on the previous 100 mass shootings. Most of the shooters had said what they intended to do. Not everybody who ever said it followed through, but the ones who did the deed had almost always announced it prior.

Reading that changed my attitude to what some might consider idle threats. The fact is that the idea has already occurred to this idiot.

Well, the carrying a semi automatic rifle option would appear to be off the table.

One of the things that happens after those event is someone comes out and says "i thought they was all talk."
David Grey and Stan Graham immediately spring to mind.
In January 1990, Gray threatened an assistant of the bookshop with what appeared to be a shotgun in a cardboard box
13 November, Te day of thre massacre he travelled into Dunedin, At the Continental Coffee Bar, he was served a cold pie, and became confrontational. After being asked to leave, he threatened the owners saying: "I'll be back, I'm going to get you. I'll blow you away
Stan Graham had a reputation for having a hot temper, but neighbours reckoned they could handle him.He threatened to kill Bill Jamieson from the dairy co-operative
Just read up on the port arthur killer he had this attached to his social welfare file
Martin tells me he would like to go around shooting people. It would be unsafe to allow Martin out of his parents' control"

Whats the best thing to do in this situation? I can expect retaliation if I do anything,
Wow nobody has yet mentioned to call the police. Police won't do much for now but a verbal threat enough to go on their record.

If anything happens to you (directly or indirectly e.g. slashed tyres, vandalism) or anyone in the neighborhood, the police will be knocking on his door first.

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.

.22 with a small mag might be an option. Just gotta wait and see I guess if that's the case, I'll be ditching my 15 shot and buying whatever remains legal.

And don't tell anyone but on the night of the Mosque attack, my rifle was removed from it's gun cabinet and spent the night inside.

I knew they were there and it took me a couple of looks.
What i can imagine happening, assuming the police do something, they will visit the complainant straight after leaving the offender, leaving the offender no doubt who dobbed in in.
Maybe a better course of action especially if the guy threatening the individual has form, is an anonymous tip off by letter to the police that the person has a AK47 and or a P lab.
Either that or maybe it a great test to see if he giving the guy the KB wave might work.
