Things got a bit disorganised on the way back, I didn't realise you'd split off and taken another route, I was just following those ahead of me.
Why should the faster people slow down? Normally as long as they wait at turn-offs/intersections the slower people can catch up there and everyone can ride at their own pace.
    Those wasps sound bloody bad...

What happened to Pinkhoggirl? I don't remember seeing her on the way back.

Scorpygirl and I were TEC on the ride up on Saturday and also started as TEC today. Unfortunately, due to circumstances outside my control, I has to pass that job to Sarge at Kaikohe and head straight home. Thanks Sarge.

Having just spent some time on the phone with Yoshi, I'm going to add my 2c worth. Before we left Opononi this morning, it was stated that this was to be a medium paced ride. Lets face it, most of us indulged a bit (or more) last night. That means that we are not at our best to be riding at a zillion miles per hour this morning.

In answer to the question "why should the faster people slow down?" this was A GROUP RIDE, not a quick fang for any one individual on their own. The number one rule in group rides is to LOOK AFTER ALL RIDERS, NO MATTER WHAT BIKE THEY RIDE OR SPEED THEY TRAVEL.

What I find really staggering is that when Yoshi stopped quickly and virtually threw his helmet down, NOBODY THOUGHT TO STOP AND SEE IF HE WAS OK.

PS: Indy, Yoshi reckons that you are a legend for following him over all that clay without complaining.

    Nothing to complain about there
I was with a few great guys, that after a while of getting to know the gravel/clay feeling, I managed to not make them wait.

Only thing I wish I had done was fix the chain at Paparoa. It got mighty rattly after that, and when I went to adjust it, my wrench wasn't big enough. doh! So a slow (read: paranoid) ride home.

A couple of non-kiwibikers joined me at Warkworth, with one of them in jeans and sneakers - NOT knowing how to stagger, so I tried breaking away from them, but the traffic was a bit heavy.

So now off to a workshop, because looking at my tools, I have nothing to fit the nut on the sidebar - wtf. Plus, why not take the day off, after being damn tired and not being home in time to wash me damn work clothes *mumble*.

Thanks everyone for the great weekend
