Maybe they should look at holding the TT in the summertime?

It's not so much the time of year, it's more to do with the the IoM being a lump of rock stuck in the middle of the Irish Sea.

Not only do the seasons work in reverse, & the water swirls the other way when you pull the bath plug, apparently it's also summer at the mo.
No practice again today, same reason.
Was in Northern Ireland two weeks ago & their summer, day on day was colder than our winter back home.

No qualifying again on Friday. I expect the race schedule will be changed.

Your 2nd fact is actually a myth, largely perpetuated by The Simpsons. I was disappointed as I used the Chrysalis effect to explain any number of unlikely events for giggles. Wikipedia it.

many years ago the warehouse sold some sundials, the keen took them home mixed up some cement and mortar and waited till high noon on a sunny day and set them down. it seems they had been sold northern hemisphere ones where the sun goes the other way so were only right twice a day....

Accepting for the moment your premise that the sun goes the other way, surely you mean only right once a day.
Day being the crucial word in sundial tech...

Also, and this might be news, but the Sun stays largely where it is, at least in comparison to the Earth.

So is my first fact, but I once did hear an adult ask if that was the case, so thought it wrong not to perpetuate that one too.
I was also wrong about summer, that starts here tomorrow.
Another day of wait & see, ending in cancellation due to high winds, poor visibility & a diesel spill all the way through Glen Helen.

wonder if they're better at cleaning up than they do at ruapuna?
the tt is at the start of the summer and the GP at the end, this is partly to stretch out the tourise season, statistically how much better chances of good weather are there in the middle of summer?
