    Ducati Superlight

I've had my Superlight for about about 4 years and have not really used it due to aches and pains.
It got to the point I could not ride 18 months ago.
Thanks to the DHB my aches and pains are now much less and I can ride it for about an hour before the very uncomfortable seat becomes too much.
Cold damp drizzling day in Auckland and I did 200 kms around the back of Pukekohe and Hunua's.
Since dropping the front sprocket down to 14 teeth its a changed bike, so much less grumpy that the rider who has only had ball joints done. The 2 valve 900 is a great motor, I can't see how I would need more power to be honest.
Perhaps a track day beacons when summer rolls around.

I was pondering how much of a better bike it is at 24 than my Ducati Darmah was at the same age.

Certainly better than the Pre Unit Triumph I'm working on.....

But you got a lap in on it without cracking a swing arm, breaking a belt or blowing the reg rec? Bravo.
I suppose you just learn to live with that broken clutch noise do you?

Not a problem as he is deaf as well as being old and broken.

I can't say I'm a fan of the Ducati dry clutch, how come the BMW and Norton have them and they are quiet?

Had a 600ss for a while and it had a wet one ( no biscuits were harmed).

Bang another clutch plate in at the back of the stack, it shuts the clutch up. Only rattles when you pull clutch out! Works a treat.

I bought so I could swap over the Nitron shock from my SS and get some Termis.
The FCR's although nice sounding and quick response made for hard starting so they sit on the shelf.
I'm glad I don't live in the US, I'd end up like one of those old guys you see on American Pickers.

The trick with starting fcr's from cold is to press the starter button with your left thumb & rapidly twist the throttle to halfway or more repeatedly until the bike fires up.
You're using the accelerator pump, instead of the choke.
