Nah pilot cct should be dusted by then. It's like preload on a spring.

On RDs etc they have to drill out brass balls to get to clean drillings into the emulsion tube. Been too long since I've seen a GP carb. I bet Rob TZ350 here, has a few lying around.
    I've been told. Dreaming`s free.
Think I'll go, back to sleep.

I'll bow to your knowledge there.

Sounds like it's four stoking though, so rich sorta made sense.

That DT powered bucket I built had a similar thing. Turned out the piston had clipped the head and pinched the top ring.

Went fucken hard once it cleared its throat, I spent fucken ages trying to tune it out before I junked the motor in frustration.

    to be honest, not really.
Old mate i got the bikes off sent me a box with a couple of carbs in various states, i slapped one on and it kinda worked, until the leaky float filled up with gas.
Felt like it was alright for a bit but now its doing it again, no where near as bad as before but its so crappy to ride ive just pushed it in the naught corner,
problem now is its fine on the stand, and fine in the first 2 gears but as soon as you start getting decent load on it its like the spark brakes down or something, as soon as it has to really work, say, maintain 90km in 5th, it starts popping and loses power and you have to chop down and its fine. Its hard to explain, it doesnt feel throttle position related in the sense of jetting, its like and once above 8500 rpm its fine, but anything lower than that has soon as its under load it pops and bangs and loses power.

Anyone had something like this before? its really doing my head in. Its CDI too so shouldnt be ignition related, unless the CDI is bung, ive replaced countless sparkplugs, coil / lead / cap etc

ok i was at last resort so pulled engine apart to be sure. aside from looking like it could do with a freshen up as the bore is a bit glazed it looks fine! im stumped. piston and rings all look fine. it obviously leaks 2 stroke oil via the tank when sitting as shes pretty oily in the crank case!

    That's quite possibly the issue.
Clean it out and run premixed gas to confirm.

well i think i confirmed the issue, after a suggestion from a friend who has a few A100s. I just assumed the oily crankcase was 2 stroke oil, but he said is it sticky and does it smell like burnt diff oil, which would indicate gear oil entering the crankcase. he was correct, i pulled the rotary disc valve cover off and sure enough the seal was hard and brittle and had oil on the wrong side and oil was present going into the crankcase.

Will pop into suzuki today and try get a new gasket set, rings and some seals. will do the left hand crank seal at the same time. figures crossed this is the answer to all my issues.
