Well I'll stick my neck out and say it is a custom build and not a bike that Yamaha build even if it is built around a Yamaha of some sort.

The photo was taken in Malaysia or Thailand. Custom builds are not permitted. Probably made under license in Thailand for the local market. The "Road Tax" system is based on engine capacity, the bigger the engine the more you pay. If you think the NZ registration/ACC costs are extreme ... over there it's worse.

That is a heavily modified Yamaha Byson 150cc. I lived in Bali for three years and had a standard one. This one have standard wheels, fork and rear swingarm but has been converted to twin shock. It is very common in Bali to see very modified bikes. So many of the cool ones you have seen there are custom build.
