Christchurch Riding - What is there?

Been off dirt bikes for 4 years or so now due to kids/no time but looking to remedy that this summer.
Where is there to ride on a regular basis nowadays?

Motocross which i solely did previously is pretty much dead it seems apart from Waimak public MX track which was always pretty average unless it had been freshly groomed, has it improved much? Seems the Christchurch MX club track at end of Weedons Ross has been abandoned, but also looks like council have built some trail bike tracks at the end of the road along the river, what are these like?

Thinking of getting an enduro bike this time around to hit up some trail rides, but also want somewhere I can just go for a blast when I have some free time on long summer evenings.

    .
Some good riding both up and downstream there if you get onto the right tracks, around 30km of tracks, if you find your way onto the stopbank (hump in the road you go over) on the other side of the fence, about 50 metres or so along there's a trail that drops off into the trees on the right which is the start

Not all of the waimak is closed for trail bikes (yet)

Oh for the good old days, when you could drop in at the old waimak bridge, ride up and over the gorge bridge (via oxford for a pie), and home back out at coutts island.
Riding cheap crappy old bikes badly since 1987
