    The end of the road

    Oops, title should read "ROAD".

As of today I am no longer a biker. I have sold "the vixen" and have no plans to replace her.

That's the trouble with getting old and running out of money.

But at least I can tick the "own a superbike" off the bucket list.

    Ride safe all.

That's alarming as I think you're a sight younger than me! However, all the very best for the future and hope you've got a fall-back interest to keep you young and dangerous!

Biking is a state of mind, not a mode of transport.

So you're still a biker, presently short of a ride.

I know a man with a Harley bagger in his garage and a Ducati Monster 1200 and he told me yesterday he'd rather ride his e-pushbike than either of them......

The M1200 is a cracking bike, except after a couple of hundred kms the seat gets a little thin...

Sorry to hear that. I hate to think what the R1 costs but it's over $1000 a year for insurance and rego. Or it would be if I paid for 12 months.

I've been offered a ride on it and politely declined. I have ridden all the other H-D's that have come through the shop. A couple I actually liked.

Oh, and I once knew a man from Gore who had shoved a flaming stick up his arse and run down the main street of Gore. I think only one end was on fire.

Life changes and sometimes you can no longer do the thing you once could.

On the other hand, you only live once. You dont want to look back when you are 85 and say "geez that riding was fun. Remember when at 17 we'd ride crappy old trail bikes and enjoy every minute at 65kph? and on an apprentice wage"

Here's an idea. 2 stroke trail bike. Then at 75 review the situation.

    Yes I know.

'But a good idea is worth repeating.
