Thread: Who ruined kiwibiker?

  1. #76
I got sick of this site because of all the moaning and same old same old. (someone didn't wave to me ! Warning, warning, unmarked roadworks !) With computer and browser changes the link got buried and good riddance. Another browser change (Brave) and I can find it again...if I want. I looked here after years away to see a post about an old bike of mine....and come back to see if the thread has been updated.

I've never been social, and turning antisocial as I get older...out and about, just me and the bike is what I love. Ride a 50cc scooter everyday and make sure I wave to the sportsbikes. As a Boomer who was too much of a hippy to jump on the gravytrain, I'm still working full time, go to lots of funerals, and visit old Auckland friends who retire to the country with 7 figures and change. Thinking I should cut down to 2 days at work....then I could do 2 days at where I worked a few years ago to help him out, and then another couple of days at a mates place. That'd give me a whole day to work on my own bikes, the kids cars, my own cars... I haven't got time to retire yet.

February 2005 for me. Joined to get feelings on my prosepective new bike and never left. Don't have a bike of my own any more due to the combined effects of redundancy last year and riding a bike 5 days a week in my new job. Riding a bit over 600kms a week and getting paid for it makes up for not having a bike of my own. Mostly.

Motu, you joined not long after me and it is good to see you are still here. There are always a few bright spots when I drop in here so I keep having a look.
    Cheers

I confess, my skin is too thin for this group. So I mainly stay away. I get new posts via RSS and occasional read a discussion. Getting ripped apart isn't fun. If it isn't fun and I don't have to use it I won't use it. Simple really.

(Every 6 days at the mo.)
Pop in here still, mainly in the Racing GP section.
Pretty much dead as, compared to 10 years ago. But hey , that's motorcycling overall isn't it ?

Still ride once a week, providing the weather is sweet.
I'm not in it for groups , just love riding a bike.

I went on a group ride to Thames on Saturday, had almost the newest bike and it was a 1974 BMW.

Got stick from the older fullas when I pressed a button to start the motor.

Many of us are lurkers, mainly on motogp. Good to see some of the old timers on here still. I'll probably visit more now the noise has died down.
Have to say I really enjoyed the Thursday night rides over the rimas.
Sadly a few of us that also enjoyed it too have gone
