    Cleaning an exhaust?

Hi, I've recently acquired a 1974 GT 185 two stroke. I wanted to clean the pipes and get them re chromed. If anyone has any tips on how to get the carbon and gunk out please let me know.

    thanks

talk to your chrome plater as they will have certain requirements before they stick it in their tanks so it doesn't stuff them

Personally check to see what price NOS ones are. As its not 100%.
    There are two main ways
Casutic soda and boiling water (extreme care) but will not harm the pipes chrome.

The other is using a gas torch, it will kill the chrome.
you heat the outside to red and occasionally direct the touch into the pipe its dirty and produces noxious fumes.
