Gsr750 coolant dripping.

I have Just bought a GSR750. Great bike and it is in good condition however, after a ride I am seeing a pool of coolant on the floor of the garage. It comes from the overflow pipe underneath the bike. At this stage my coolant level appears to be okay, but obviously a little bit worried about what is happening. Any suggestions?

How big is the 'pool' of coolant?
What level is the res showing?
What temp is your bike peaking at?

Not sure how to judge how much. More than a few drops. Maybe 100ml. It has happened to me twice
Coolant level is above minimum (but only just now).
Temp is consistent at the half way mark.

How long since the fluid was replaced ??

If it wasn't that long ago, a pressure check might be required.

It only has 2.8 litres in the system ... you don't want to lose too much.

How often you check the reservoir level ... do you top it up if the level is low (engine cold) ??

But it would pay to check all the lines and junctions in the cooling system for obvious leaks.

I have had the bike two weeks now! So no idea of history. I don't think there are any leaks and the coolant only seems to be coming from the overflow tube. For the time being I will keep an eye on levels and get it checked if the problem continues.

The usual action of the reservoir is when /as the engine cools ... it sucks coolant from the reservoir. When/as it heats it blows coolant into the reservoir.

Check hoses in and out for blockages and make sure the hose the engine sucks it out has no leaks an is not sucking air. Also check the outlet hose from the engine is not putting the coolant directly (or indirectly) on the ground.

And cap on reservoir properly. As above as it really shouldn't be happening . don't panic as it is likely solvable through some minor issue. A scare monger would tell you it was the head gasket leaking pressure into the cooling system . This could force water past the cap and overflow the reservoir. But a weak cap might do similar. Or a minor leak in tubes to and from.
