    The reason for the season

    Happy Sol Invictus.

    Sun God.

    25 December was his celebration..

some much later Pope tried to suppress Roman worshippers of a Pagan God so invented a birthday party for baby jezuz. The early Jews and Christians were quite against celebration of birthdays. There is no known date for the birthday of jesus. Everything you have been told about Christmas is a lie perpetuating over centuries.

    Merry Sol Invictus.

At least you can open the curtain in the morning and feel his warmth.

Can I just say that discrediting one religious celebration by citing another, earlier religious celebration is not the strongest argument against religious celebrations.

Just pointing out how ridiculous it is.

The story of Santa Claus is interesting though. The Coca cola story is a bit of a myth.

...while others did whatever they do on xmas day, I had a very peaceful day, home alone...cut a hedge, dug out masses of ivy growing over our fence from the property next door and contemplated digging the garlic up...the hedge was a real arsehole and every time I drew more blood from my hands and arms JC got a mention...mainly in a derogatory manner...If anyone was listening they probably thought that JC's middle name was Fuckin...

Sunday was a day of rest and worship (gettin' pissed or ridin' included) and not shopping. Oh how times change.

Phoned a friend in Auckland yesterday, he too had a battle with ivy during which he lost some blood. Reminded me that I have a bougainvillea that needs a haircut and it does not give up without a struggle.

People seeing me out with my dog could be forgiven for thinking his name was Jesus. I would have been heard often to exclaim, "Jeeezus dog!"

I have one of those as well. I HATE cutting it because it cuts me back. Just like the fucking roses do.

Dunno yet, still in the box. I'm gonna put it together and burn summat on it this weekend. If it's any good I'll be sure to bore you with the details.

A mate has just opened a BBQ shop in the Bay of Islands, BBQ BOI funnily enough.

This is one brand he stocks Big Green Eggs, they are epic and very spendy.

He also has other brands from Mercka. Off sets, grills and ovens. Different types of wood, charcoal, briquettes, rubs, marinades and trinkets.

It's awesome to see NZ embracing proper BBQ without gas bottles.

My Weber kettle is still going strong after 7 years but I'm really tempted by a small off set grill and smoker. Summit I can get a wee pig into.
