    Lightbulb What bike to get?

    Hi everyone!

So i am in a bit of a dilema. I have just sold my Ninja 250 2009 so am now in need of a bike. The question is which one?! I still need it to be lams approved, and i have about $3500 to spend. Im looking for something that i can daily commute yet also take for longer trips every once in a while (I took my ninja 250 for longer trips so anything with that power/gear ratio or more is fine). Im hoping to stay away from fully faired bikes since its such a hastle taking the plastic off everytime i need to work on it. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Jeremias

How tall are you? There's plenty to chose from in that price range.

Similar to me. A 90s CB500 twin should be suitable I'd imagine or any older 450/500 twin for that matter.. A GB400 loaded up got me around alright too.

This would be great if you throw in an extra $500 or haggle https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/mot...ff27201808-006

Another goodie but older XJ engines are bullet proof http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/moto...ff27201808-006 Being in Wellington the electric connections will need a good going over. The damage on the fairing is nothing really and easy to sort out,

Other good looking machine https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/mot...77e6d454ed-001 Haven't any knowledge of the model though.

Yeah plus 1 on something like this...it's that 'natural progression' coming off a 250. Then the dilemma sets in again (when you're on you full) and you want something bigger. Once off my 250, I had a 600cc bike but didn't own it own that long (I didn't own any bike that long to be fair) then I bought 955 Triumph. The SV will suit a taller rider.

Photo is the 600 that I bought.

I did the same thing, I went from a 2008 250 ninja to a 2007 zx6 probably not the best move but I'm still alive and kicking.. it was a lot of bike coming from the 250

I recall moving off in second on the 600...coming off a 22hp bike to a 100hp bike seemed a bit of a leap at the time. After a few days, it was fine and I had a lot of fun on the Yamaha. I had that bike when I joined KB in 05' hence the name.
