Sugilites Chinese Made Ultrasonic Cleaner Reports

More and more in my business I have been needing to get an Ultrasonic Cleaner.
So after much buggering around on e-bay - I chose "The One". A hefty 30 Liter model from China. See link below.
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/30L-1027T-U...l/312832740919

I got it a bit cheaper than it is listed now. It arrived much sooner than I thought it would (14 days) as I had ordered it in the Xmas rush.
Took me 5 minutes to work out that I had made a fuck up and had not realized there were models that had internal water heaters and ones that did not - and I had ordered one that did not. I'm was well pissed with myself, but as it turns out it was no biggie as my hot water tap produced water that was in the right temp range, and as I later found out just the act of running the machine keeps the water at that same temp - so no big deal. I figured a work around if ever required is to simply use the fish tank water heater I used when I was running a 8 foot tank with turtles inside.
Subsequently I did find this model on amazon with digital controls and internal heating for a pretty good price - looks like it came from the same factory. A few people whingeing about how long the water takes to heat on this and other models though.

I chose the Chinese one because reviews were ok, and it was only 15% of the comparable price of sourcing one of a similar size from a NZ based distributor. Most of which looked to be made in China too, but some even more expensive ones made in the USA or Europe ($5000 +) were simply too expensive for me to take a chance on.

Just by pure chance I picked one large enough that it can take banks of carburetors from inline 4 jap motorcycles
So look out for updates to this report regarding those hopefully within a few weeks.
In the mean time I have been cleaning mineral specimens with jaw dropping results. The blue and green ones in the photo are Azurite Malachite (from Laos - a copper based mineral). In the past, I have never been able to find a way to cleaning the oxides/dirt and so off them without destroying them. I tested a single one in the cleaner and holy fuck, it came out amazing (used just warm water and a bit of dish liquid). So I put the rest through. They came up so good, the extra money I will now get for them will damn near pay for the whole cleaner - so I'm ahead already as far as I'm concerned. And yes, I'm kicking myself for not doing before and after shots, but will add to this report as I do more shit.
As some may notice, you maybe wondering what the hell are the glass jars about? I'm testing out different cleaning solutions for different minerals and such, so the jars allow me to run multiple solutions in one run with no contamination. I have run tests and the items in jars clean up just as well as ones naked in the machine. The vibrations go through the glass just fine.
so, so far I'm impressed with the machine. As mentioned I will certainly add to this report as I run more items through it and will also report on reliability and so on. But so far, so good .

For those interested in what the hell does a Azurite Malachite specimen look like? See photo below of one of the cleaned specimens....

Interesting stuff - I spend a lot of time cleaning things and something like this would be an asset in the garage.

Ditto - I've always wondered about ultrasonic cleaners. How effective are they at cleaning bike bits? Anyone have some examples they'd like to share?

I had the crabs on my VFR400 ultrasonic cleaned before they were rebuilt. They looked lovely. Pointless because the motor was dicked but the crabs were nice.

I use a small unit (2ltr?) for cleaning an airbrush. It has a heater function but I don't use it and just use warm water out of the tap.

After stripping down an airbrush and starting on the cleaning sequence, there is a small resemblance of "smoke" coming out of the airbrush parts in the water, which is all of the hidden residue coming off of the surfaces. A nice result each time!

Well worth the investment... which was "free" - just requiring a switch repaired to make it function again, hence the reason it was being thrown out.
