...I gave away one of my true loves, fishing, in lieu of racing motorcycles, many years ago...it was a conscious decision, tempered by the thought that I may not be able to race bikes forever and fishing can always make a comeback...and when I couldn't do either I would keel over in my garden...seems like that is how it's panning out...

...I'm not a muso but have punched out heavy and not so heavy bass lines in a band for 18 years until recently...not so much a hobby, just one of the aspects of the trio of sex and drugs and rock and roll that I have adhered to since I was 16...

...and I have been putting up with wankers for so long that it may also have become a hobby...

...oh yeah, and polishing my wood...

Seems to a recurring theme here....
I hardly ride these days for one reason or another. Still have 2 bikes in the shed though and 1 in Canada for when the urge takes me.
I've built a few Lego technics sets and will probably build some more over winter. Lately most w/ends, when the weather's good I'll be out enjoying my first true hobbie... fishing

Onto our second boat now. It's smaller than the first one but we love boating just as much as motorcycles. Sold our last bike two and a half years ago. The Plylite Charger was 5.4 mts with a 130hp Johnson motor. The FiGlass is 4.2 mts with a staggering 40hp motor, which has done less than 50 hours, it came with so many extra's. The bimini and sides were all new as was the carpet. I recently bought an auxiliary motor for it. Both ex Taupo boats. As with Motorcycles, you can spend a shit loads on any amount of gear.

As the name suggests, Jeeps. They are addictive and time consuming.

For me motorcycling is the second hobby.

Ain't that the truth.... and then some
Bait, jigs, fuel, a rod/reel for this and another for that, it soon adds up. It's all part of it though.
Good to see a couple of posts from you Maha, I trust Mom is well. I reckon after a few trips in crap weather you'll be wishing you'd kept the charger.

My recent favourite thing to do is spend good money on quality fishing tackle, and sacrifice it to the bottom.

I suspect any fish floating around under the boat look up and laugh their boobies off when they see it is me with the rod in hand.

On one recent expedition, I managed to catch a tree, then I caught the weeds, then pulled up an entire lake bottom of weed raising the anchor.

Bought Hoki Fillets on the way home

Boats ... are an expensive way of getting wet. And a hole in the water you pour money into.

Motorcycles ... are an expensive way of sitting in a draft. And getting wet. If a hole in the water is caused ... you're doing it wrong.

Hiya JATZ...the Charger was a great boat...in mint condition for it's age, nice cabin area, under floor fuel tank, upholstery was perfect. It was bloody heavy to tow. We enjoy the FiGlass better.

This one is a Hurdy Gurdy and took 6 months work.
