I've had more runny noses, bum-squirts, Vomitasaurases and general 'picked up from Daycare' bugs in the last few years than I care for - I can assure you, despite the Hand Sanitizer, my immune system is getting a regular workout.

Normally after a Nappy change or after dealing with anything that is of 'unknown origin'.

    Your concern is deeply touching.

But don't worry, something else will come along in time - Children really are walking biological weapons....

I can only imagine your fear if you should get a sniffle.

Not really, It's more annoyance - either make me sick enough that I can take a day off work and not feel guilty or piss off.

It's the prolonged, indeterminable sniffles and snuffles that make you feel like Arse, but not arse enough to justify taking a day off.

Some interesting comments about the US overnight. From the NY Times IIRC, guy returned to the US, felt unwell so got tested, test was negative but he was presented with a bill for US$3270.

That he got tested was a minor miracle. The population of California is something like forty million, they reportedly have just 200 kits available. There is an announcement that thousands of testing kits have just arrived in the country, enough to supply every hospital in the country with two kits.

A shortage of kits probably makes no difference, there is no mandatory sick leave in the US so many people can't afford to take time off work or get tested. So they will struggle in to work and spread the good news. The reported cases figure will remain low though because there's no way of testing.

Maybe we should take a leaf out of the Samoan book and ban travellers from the US.

The North Korean plan might be more effective: one guy had the virus, he was shot. That may not stop people getting sick but it'll sure stop them mentioning it.

Steveyb posted this in the MotoGP thread but it might be a fit in this thread as well.
