There was something in a book about how the princess was designed to be a hatchback but BL thought it would steal sales from the Allegro so they deleted it.
Only redeeming quality wityh princesses was they had Lockhead 4 piston calipers that you could transplant onto Ford Escorts.
At the time, the only thing uglier then both of the Princess and the Allegro was the Maxi.
