Are they going to fix the looks, or just give up and crush them?

One mans trash is another mans treasure.
Different for sure, but so was the original Kat.
I like the design, and have ridden a Svart, (fucking tight piece of kit, WP adj suspension/Brembo stoppers etc.
75ponies form a thumper with great handling.

Looks like the arse end fell off. That goes for a lot of more" modern" bikes these days.. Fuck all radiator protection as well by the looks. I like "mud guards" that deflect shit away from them and the engine and not allow crap to flick up your back. Few other things I can go on about as well.....

Looks kinda like modern rendition of a Cafe Racer but definately crap in the the asthetics/application of design department. Kats on the other hand were wonderfully made for the time- decent guards, decent seat etc, etc, etc.....

Like I said. One mans etc etc, The world would be boring if we all rode the same machine. Might just buy one to stick it to the conformists.

There's a reason I call the two new models shVitpilen and Sfartpilen. I don't care about other people's opinions. It was a rude shock to go from the Nuda when BMW owned them to these weird arse abominations from KTM. They look like a weird Uncle's attempts to make his SRX600 look "cool".

I was hell keen to buy one - even put down a holding deposit. I think I have dipped out now. It would do 99% of what I want a motorbike to do I reckon.

Except for provoking that over the shoulder glance as you leave the garage.

I'm with you James Deuce and feel the same about all these modern bikes that are missing a rear end they just look so blood silly and whatever happened to the idea of having pillion room for a hot partner? To see a tiny little rear seat on some of them, that if someone slipped off of they land on top of the rear wheel, is just fricken dangerous.

OK, lets list a few things:

    1. Fuck pillions, it's not a bike for them.

2.Not practicable. Bullshit. Put a bag on ya back and ride it to work/shop/parties etc.

3.75hp on a light, (150ishkg) motorcycle is very easy to manoeuvre and ride hard if the suspension is up to it. (which it is and so are the brakes).

    4. At 11500 grand it's a steal considering the components.

    5. Criticise as much as you like, but don't be surprised if one goes around the outside of you on back roads and tight hill climbs.

Putting stuff in a back pack gets very old pretty quickly. Been there done that.

Anyway dispite the specs it's damn fucking ugly. Looks like a commitee designed it.

Exactly and as for the Mantra I used to call them the Looney Tunes bike because they had that similar style of cartoon look about them.

I'm with Triboy on this one. Polarising looks but outstanding handling and Punch. Depends what's important to you, looks, in this case or performance.
