I've clicked through at least 50 pics of Pete Hickman, TT lap record holder at both BSB & TT & see no sign of such a device on his bike.
Will see if I can get a personal opinion from him on them in the next day or two.

Well Im still in the 70% believe it camp. Seems to a lot of marketing with it but it could be a good thing?

If it did work, would be great on ADV bikes on gravel.

Seems like they have been about for a bit. Starting to sound legit.

“But that was a bit of a disaster!” said team-owner Eduardo Perales, who has been running GP teams since 1990. “At first the problem was that the unit damped too much, so the rider couldn’t feel what was going on. Now we only use one damper on the swingarm and we are still trying to understand what works and what doesn’t, which is why we have a 2D sensor attached to the unit. Eventually maybe we could put the damper inside the swingarm. So far the good thing is that the damper seems to reduce rear-shock temperature and we can use a higher tyre pressure and still get a good contact patch, which improves tyre life.”

In the PS to the motorcycle.com article there is mention of an item by Mat Oxley. Here 'tis:

If it's a con there's a lot of people in on it.

He lost me when he tried to demonstrate the tyre contact patch by holding a dismounted tyre up to a fucking table mat.

Unless and until it is endorsed by Kevin Cameron I regard it as bullshit

You only have to look at a still of anything with a 200 slick on the rear, exiting a corner hard to see that the table mat method is somewhat flawed.

I think that was due to the uglyness of the table mat.

I'd got as far as the bit where he said Don't skip forward in flashing lights, and I though; now there's s good idea, finally. I skipped forward a couple of times and he was still talking and showing something about adding unsprung weight right at the far end of a swingarm.
Skipping forward was a great idea.
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.
