    Not at all.

    No warrant.

    No rego.

    Too fast for the conditions.

The pattern is an attitude that the rules don't apply to me, no need to twist it into something I haven't said.

We've all been young and exuberant at some stage, not everyone gets away with it.

Nothing can un-do this incident ... but talking and thinking about it might just help someone here avoid or mitigate the next one, especially if we knew the facts rather than purely speculating.

Thing is, anyone who reads this thread is likely a human. Humans have a thing called optimism bias.

Until something bad happens to us, we don't believe that it will happen to us.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Optimism_bias

By deduction, if we don't think it'll happen to us, we won't do anything to prevent it.

    Add that to illusory superiority.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illusory_superiority

So we continue to behave as we see fit, and for some of us, it goes wrong.

Overcoming optimism bias is the greatest challenge in road safety.

This also makes for an interesting read.

Self preservation instinct is lower in creatures less suitable to pass their genes on.
Gets very interesting where it goes Into laws surrounding seatbelts etc.
I've often noticed on motorway patrol that it's people that probably shouldn't be breeding that get pulled up for safety breaches.
It also goes some way to explaining poor hygiene, lack of forethought & a disregard for the survival based laws & guidelines, that we have seen a complete contempt for in recent weeks amongst certain groups of society.

Don't worry, after the regime change you and I can be in charge of who gets licences to reproduce. Its going to solve a LOT of problems.

However the media are very quick to use so-called facts to spice up a story without actually bothering to check for any substance behind them. This figure will get quoted again, quite possibly during the subsequent investigation, and will become a given despite having no basis in truth. That's what frustrates me. Plus like others have said nothing that is said will bring him back - So why enflame an already sad situation by throwing poorly thought out reporting into the mix?
Yes his parents and friends put flowers up.i saw him once .
What I saw he was riding fine.
    That's accident black spot.
