Instead of fixing roads it seems Waka Kokrappy roads is hell bent on blowing money on advertising campaigns about speed lately…
Anyhow last data I could easily find ending financial year 2020 2,700,000 infringements for speed issues across all enforcement avenues.
If we skip past the deadpool to the larger group of seriously injured it seems statistically they would be a very small percentage vs those ticketed, in fact if you were to somehow calculated ALL occasions of speed because cops can’t be everywhere at once then from a scientific basis there would be no tangible basis to equate speed with likelihood of serious injury.
For the record you all know I accept travelling at higher speeds is inherently dangerous to some extent and will result in nastier injuries or death.
It’s just that I love the govts own data doesn’t prove their claims.

The fact the comments are closed after only ~100 comments really is telling on the Media.

If the comment section was overwhelming support, it would still be open - but we can't let the public be critical of our utopian vision. Dissension in the ranks must be silenced!

Central Wellington is chaos, but not because of speeding cars. No one seems to talk about the safety risk of walking around a city centre with EarPods in, staring at your phone or ignoring traffic signals as you cross the street...

Better slow down those cars even more .
