Oh but the patina! Which I believe is another word for fucked paint and corroded alloy.

Gezzuz that brown is ugly and it's a friggin station wagon.

Dad had a new V8 Monaro that he ordered with a Kingswood body (family to panda to). Got front springs cut a turn off at the factory so it didn't drive down the road like a shark. Gee imagine trying to do that now. Still had to wait for it from Aussie.

Cant imagine wanting one, but some people aren't motorcycle enthusiasts I understand.

Well clearly I don't understand, but I've heard it.

    I think its repressed.

Mentally calculating the bikes I could buy with that sort of coin. . . .

All my favourite cars have been wagons. Get a lot of mountainbike, snowboard, DIY and motorbike shit in the back of a wagon.

That's why my only 4 wheeled vehicle till last year was a van for 30 years. Far more practical for moving dirtbikes, race bikes, even house contents.

To be fair, Unless the other person is driving an Artic Truck, another Kingswood or an LAV, chances are that all you'll need to do is straighten the bumper, give it a splash of paint and a polish and she'll be right, Mate*.

Meh, the front suspension in my hot rod pickup truck came from a HZ Holden that had been hit on the rear passenger door. Roof and rear pillar were buckles so off to the knackers yard with it.

Run a magnet over it and see how much filler is in it.

In their day ... if no rust was seen and it looked straight ... the WOF was no issue.

A mate of mine died in a 50 km/hr accident (Invercargill I think) ... he hit a power pole. One of the wooden ones. Bog (and lots of it) in all the wrong places.

It left the scene on the flatbed ... in about four separate pieces.

He had done the bog job himself.

It wont have been the first Holden part to be fitted to a Hot rod. Nor the last.

Holden's contribution to the Hot Rod community has been underrated. And seldom acknowledged. By Holden especially (that I am aware of).

Out of curiosity ... what would be the expected premiums for a $70,000 car. Regardless of make. And for a car that was out of production for at least 30 years ... common body parts are now not that common ... or even available .. ???
