    Painting Fairings

How do you paint the plastic fairings without the previous coats of paint reacting with the new paint and bubbling up? I had a terrible time last time I did some, and I'm going to be doing some more soon.

Is there a special primer I should be using or something?

    Cheers,

Go to a proper automotive paint supplier, talk to them about a sealing primer/plasticised paint, that will stop the paint reaction and allow your new paint to move with your parts, so they don't simply crack and peel off, it is doable, usually done by a professional in controlled conditions (IE: Paint booth)
Check the label on the paint, so contain isocyanate, not pretty if you are breathing it while painting.

Resene Automotive was very helpful. They suggested lacquer for my CB550 orange touch up paint. Excellent service.

Plastic. I haven't had such problems with aluminium or fibreglass.
