DRZ400 or KLX400 Top End for Engine Needed

Hi, I am looking for a DRZ400 or KLX400 top end to repair my DRZ400. So, I need a top end in good condition - the journals are damaged and the cams are damaged. Cheers.

Can't you just have inserts put in the journals and the cam built up and grinded? use to be a thing back in the olden days.

Get an engine rebuilder to line bore and make new journals and get the cam built up. (just a suggestion).

Apparently welding up and line boring the journals is very, very expensive and it is very difficult to find someone who actually knows what they are doing with this type of work (what the mechanic told me who stripped down the head). So, I'm still looking for a head in good condition.

Have you gotten quotes instead of making assumptions? Any decent engine shop should be able to do it.

No, I have been a bit remiss and have not got actual quotes for the work. I had assumed that top end parts were easy to come by - I'm finding that last part wrong, of course.
