Legitimate whinge.
A big part of the problem is not having enough people paying tax to provide the roads we all wish for.
Of course, the way we spend the current dosh is always good for a whinge.
Then theres the irony. Like, we moan about how pish the roads are , then ride on them like they are the Nurburgring.
Yes, a good old topic for a whinge.
I would actually like to see a working group (hehe Labour key word right there) of engineers plus an accountant put together who go overseas and look into how the tax money is spent over there in the places they build roads well, then compare it to what we are spending and actually see if we are getting good value for money or not? Seems like we build em cheap and fast and have to fix them every 5 minutes. The subcontractor model ruined the copper telecom network eventually as contractors raced to the bottom to increase profit, so I wonder if the same is being applied here. I barely see any rollers on work sites there days so it seems the metal isn't even being compacted as well as it once was.
The road to New Plymouth from this way is totally fucked right now, was bloody sketchy in my car the other day with some of the best wet weather tyres on the market, would hate to take it on a bike in the rain.
I'll take that as you cannot find a single post where I say you cannot post from the (now the following are your exact words) "naughty room dumb cunts".
Are you clicking now as to what is so funny about your statement, when read literally? (apparently a word outside your comprehension)
NZTA actually admitted last year their roading surface was shit & were going to change it
It took them 10 yrs of "studying" to conclude what everyone told them 10yrs ago so expect half that again before they roll out a change of seal
The longer version was something of it was supposed to be a cheaper, quicker to lay, easier to repair, & as long if not longer lasting road surface but that didn't live upto claims in NZ conditions (stating it's used successfully elsewhere which is why they green lit it); So after 10yrs of studying surface hold up, costs associated with the lay, repair, & resurface hearing the complaints they have admitted it was a failure it doesn't last the distance, is costing more over the life & has safety concerns attached so will be scrapping it & resurfacing a whole bunch of roads that have it (roads of importance)

It's not even that the law describes exactly how to indicate when entering, traversing and exiting a round-about, it's simply good manners to let those around you know which bloody direction you are going and when you intend to leave the round about. We don't need road laws- all we need is common courtesy.
Happiness is a means of travel, not a destination
Be absolutely great if common courtesy prevailed, not only on the road but in all other aspects of life...
However, as it seems to be lacking on the road - along with common sense - there are some "suggestions" as to how to negotiate a roundabout...

Easy, stop spending truckloads on sealing gravel roads. Guess what? They all need more maintenance, more sealing etc etc. The budget keeps getting spread thinner, then they have clever ideas like taking arterial routes that were hot mix finished on construction, and the first sign of wear, they put chip seal down. It lasted 3 weeks.
