    Old Boi signs up

Saying hello. I havent ridden in too many years but now looking to get back on two wheels.

I am trawling the Classic and Vintage section on Trademe and have added a few to my watch list.

Looking at Royal Enfield, Triumph and one or two Japanese and other European makes.

I dont see myself touring but just tooling around my town enjoying the sunny Sundays .

    Regards
    1/32 man

    Howdy.

They all say that. Then they buy their motorcycle ... and they're never home.

But ... whatever you get ... enjoy your sunny Napier sunny Sunday rides.

And you might surprise yourself just how far you can travel on a Sunday.

Thanks Mr FJ....all I have done so far is put a few machines on my TM watchlist....and had a bit of a dream.

On the watch list are three Honda Hornet 900's, a Ducati Monster and a couple of Enfield bullets. Usually I look to see where the bikes are, cost, kms, condition and what are they like for a small guy like me.....any input, comments, opinions or thoughts welcome. My budget is around 5k.

    TIA

Hi and welcome, give the RE650 lots of consideration, i saw an independent motor review a couple of years back. They tore-down three retro-motors after 20 or 30k ( cant remember exact K's) they were really surprised to find RE had the best machining tolerances and the least wear, Kawasaki w650 was second and Triumph was third--and a really poor 3rd at that, compared to the other two . Plus the RE was Completely developed in Britain, overbuilt-motor and has a brilliant Harris Frame. Stock suspension on most of the retro's is mediocre, but can always be upgraded. Whatever way you go, go easy for a while , I scared myself a few times by forgetting I was no-longer 20-something

Did the budget get adjusted? 2016 Street Twin for 5k

Glad you found something to start with and already looking for an Italian. Sounds like you are getting a few more kms than I manage
