That phone call was official business - his Chief of Staff and other officials were on it.
That means that under the rules the White House operates on, there should be a transcript in the official archives....

Prestwick airport has been advised to expect a US military 757. Of course if Trump turned up there now he'd be in breach of Britain's lockdown rules.

Not sure what you think was not clear. The entire 1:02:04 is clear as a bell. And yes, as sad as it may be, I've now listened to the whole thing.

This press conference is by Gabriel Sterling who is the offical responsible for elections in Georgia. He starts out talking about the imminent run-off election. He then moves on to replying to the statements made in Trumps phone call, item by item, demolishing them each in turn. Trump and his team threw a lot of iigures around, all bollocks according to Mr Sterling.

Shirely what Edward Snowden showed people pretty much guarantees that it'll end up on the record you state. He has nothing to fear from that call except the one eyed monster.

A friend of mine is a Trump supporter (for whatever reasons, I try not to get into political debates with him) and he showed me that video. I replied that yes I had heard the claims but then I had also heard that it had been debunked. His reply was that of course they'll say that, that that's what they want you to believe, you don't know how far up this goes, they'll do anything to disprove Trump etc etc. No evidence would satisfy him that it's not how Trump supporters suggest it is. No evidence. None. Not even Trump himself saying he believes it to be debunked, he would argue that Trump was forced or coerced to say it, or that it's part of his plan to win the election back by blah blah blah. My point is, there is no telling some people.

Yes this guy is my friend, one of my best friends actually. Since school days. He owns a successful business, has a loving family who he works hard for, is reasonable, thoughtful, considerate. But I don't judge people on where they lie on the political spectrum (unless of course it involves extremism or violence).

One obviously has to respect that people even friends have differing political or moral standpoints.

    And then mock them mercilessly.

Trump did tell one truth in his Geogia speech "I have been involved in the two largest scams in US history"

but the claim to have built 500 miles of the new wall only 15 miles of new wall.
Before he took office, there were 654 miles (just over 1,000km) of barrier along the southern border - made up of 354 miles of barricades to stop pedestrians and 300 miles of anti-vehicle fencing.
Now, according to US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in its 6 October status report, the southern border has 669 miles of "primary barrier" - the first structure people heading from Mexico to the US will encounter - and 65 miles of "secondary barrier"

In his 2016 election campaign, when he pledged to build a concrete wall along the border's entire 2,000-mile length.
He later clarified that it would cover only half of that. And by the time of his State of the Union address in February this year, his pledge had been reduced to "substantially more than 500 miles" by January 2021.
Throughout his 2016 election campaign, when he described it, he talked about concrete.

But once elected, he began referring to a barrier made of steel, which would enable border agents to see through it.
And what has been built so far is mostly such steel fencing.
Specifically, much of the current wave of construction is 18-30ft (5.4-9m) reinforced bollard fencing.

Trump's pledge on the campaign trail in 2016 to get Mexico to pay for the wall, it is the US government that has spent billions of dollars to expand and reconstruct it.
Just over $5bn (£3.9bn) in funding has come via traditional means through the CBP, but Mr Trump has also ordered almost $10bn in Department of Defense.

Sterling should get the Presidential Medal of Honour. He won't of course bacause if Biden gave it to him it would fuel the right....

I was in hospital pre Xmas. Got buttonholed in the ward lounge by a person who through an obviously painful broken jaw - which he'd had for a week before going for attention - then proceeded to tell me how Trump had won the election...
I'm afraid I was not polite. Cut him off in full flow and debunked most of his claims. Hospital is not the place for arguments. I simply ignored him for the rest of the time. I pointed him out to one of my nurses and said I'd talked to him....She simply rolled her eyes but didn't say anything. Very proper too.
I've got to say that appearance wise and personality wise he was exactly how I've always imagined Yokel to be.....

It can be confusing. I know a couple, both nice people, she is very smart, appears to have a good general knowledge, and has her own business. Just lately though I'm picking up the odd comment that jars. It's becoming evident that she's reading - and believing - some 'alternative' news sources.

Americans comment on social media that their family is split. Often it's the parents that have been watching FOX, have drunk the Kool Aid, and are die hard MAGAts.

I'm reminded of the research that found people who watch FOX know less than people who don't watch news at all.

Sterling has appeared in two press conference clips I've seen. He's impressive.

Good people can have bad ideas or become infected with bad information from poor or misinformed sources.
Stupid people can too. a Dam sight easier and faster.
The problem is the echo chambers that are all to prevalent on the internet play on people's confirmation bias and racism sexism etc.
Once infected, their ego, as well as the dunning Kruger effect, prevents anything that doesn't suit permeating through no matter how logical or how much proof thatt hey are wrong its almost impossible to shift the bias.
it's like when you point out how trump lies, the stock return, instead of admitting this it's, so it's "no he exaggerates" or "no its the media" the closest you will ever get is "they all do it", but never with any evidence.

Google's algorythms are the culprit IMO. Click on a pro trump site and they'll offer you more of the same - getting more extreme as you continue down that path.

Show by clicking that it's your preference and all your searches will be biased in that direction.

It's very easy to get so far away from the mainstream that you're in an alternate reality.

I'm on a US based forum where there are several living down that rabbit hole. When someone posts a link to MSM it's ridiculed simply because it is mainstream.

Personally I stay on centerist or center left biased sites. The only US based news site I loiok at is Politico.

Yesterday a Scottish news reporter revealed that Trumps golf course at Turnberry is fully booked for January. Recent activity by US military aircraft and a booking for a Boeing 757 at Prestwick airport suggested Trump was planning to travel there.

The First Minister of Scotland has announced that Scotland is in lockdown, entry is now only granted for essential business and golf is not essential business. It would seem Trump is banned.

Ireland might be nice this time of year?
