Every great cause begins as a movement, becomes a business, and eventually degenerates into a racket - Eric Hoffer
That spelling of Arkansas reminded me of something, just to lighten the mood...

It was a special arrangement. Normally only the official R and D presidential and VP candidates get security. While there were still multiple R candidates one of Trump's angry tweets got an angry response, so he asked for protection. We now know it wasn't about protection, it was about the million dollars.
Other than that various reporters and politicians have continually been all over his excessive charges. Some of which are currently under investigation.

Apple and Google banned the parler app and aws is kicking them off their network at midnight. Those right wing conspiracy types heads must be exploding![]()
Still seems that he's the Teflon Don. With everything this ugly man has wrought, all "his people" he's thrown under the bus (including his own VP), the cries of "not enough time to bring him to justice", "impeachment or 25th Amendment won't achieve anything", "Biden's team doesn't want the extra sideshow of dealing with impeachment at the start of his administration", "either option is a gift to Trump's base by making him a martyr for his cause" blah blah blah blah blah. People are demanding that this awful awful man is held accountable, but it looks likely that yet again he'll get off pretty much scot-free by the few people who could make it happen (here's looking at you Pence and McConnell) basically just letting the clock tick down.
As for wanting an international airport named after him, really???????
p.s.watched Arnie's 7 minute video earlier today on CNN and thought it was very commendable.
Oh, and the rotten apples don't fall far from the tree. Donald Jr addressing the mob before the storming of the Capitol building: "If you're going to be the zero not the hero we're coming for you and we'll enjoy doing it". The same vindictive, vengeful and taking pleasure in spitefulness as his dear ole dad... Bets on that if Don Snr somehow, by a miracle gets banned for ever being able to run for public office ever again that lil junior will be ready to step up to take his place to continue the family business of shame, disgrace and bile??
Is malignant narcissism hereditary?
trump is not getting everything his way - the PGA golf championship is leaving trump national in 2022. And he probably cares more about that than any of the other shit thats happened across america

it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

the trumps organization's response is rather interesting."It has become clear that conducting the PGA Championship at Trump Bedminister would be detrimental to the PGA of America brand and would put at risk the PGA's ability to deliver on many programs and sustain the longevity of our mission.''
The events of Jan. 6, in which pro-Trump protesters stormed the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., pushed the organization to move to another venue with just more than 15 months until that championship is scheduled to be played on May 19-22, 2022.
I say this considering how the reason they have lost the PGA's support s is because trump ignored the presidential oath.A spokesperson for The Trump Organization told ABC news that they are "incredibly disappointed" with the decision.
"This is a breach of a binding contract and they have no right to terminate the agreement," the spokesperson said. "As an organization we have invested many, many millions of dollars in the 2022 PGA Championship at Trump National Golf Club, Bedminster.
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

To uphold the constitution, first you must have read it....Demonstrably he never has.
I still think that when the dust settles on his taxes and the source of his financing, he'll be shown to have been in breach of the emoluments clause from day one...
ATM it looks like the house will present and pass inpeachment under urgency - I can't see Pense invoking the 25th amendment. Hang Pense as a chant may have been too much for him, LOL.
But they don't have to pass it to the Senate untill they feel like it. They are talking about giving Biden 100 days to get sorted before going after Trump
It is apparently possible to impeach an ex president. Which then among other things stops them from standing for elected office again.
On another note, someone on talkback today suggested the US have an annual "Storming of the Capitol" day - like Guy Fawkes.
On which Trump shall be burned in effigy.
Sounded like a good idea for a pissup so I suggested it on a US based forum. A few liked it. We'll see if it's adopted, LOL.
The Insurrection Act
"It is Sunday, January 10, 2021 and one of my very reliable sources has told me he was inbound to Camp Pendleton due to the Insurrection Act being signed.".
Things might get a little weird if this is true.

Trump will be seriously pissed off about that. He had previously instructed the US Ambassador to Britain to approach the British government about moving the British Open, from wherever it was scheduled to be held, to his course at Turnberry. They declined.
There's always a grift. Prestwick Airport near Glasgow is losing money and closure is a possibility. Prestwick is the closest airport to Turnberry, if Prestwick closed Turnberry would be a long way from an airport. So Trump has had the USAF routing through Prestwick (with the crews staying at Turnberry of course). This has reportedly cost the Yank tax payer millions, because the fuel at Prestwick is considerably more expensive than the US bases they'd normally use.
