What an exit. Liz Cheney, who is almost certainly about to be voted out in the mid-term elections, moved a resolution before the Jan 6th Committee. As the hearing closed she moved that Donald J Trump be subpoenaed to appear before the committee. The vote was unanimous.

He does ignore them and when POTUS he told others to as well. They are only toothless because of the way they have been handled. If he ignores this particular subpoena he could potentially be locked up and dragged to the hearing in irons. As unlikely as that may be. Previously Congress wasn't sure the Capitol Police would be on their side. Following Trump's failed coup attempt, which killed one off them and sent about 140 others to hospital, they might be onside now?

He has also been subpoenaed to appear in the New York fraud case. The prosecutor in that case has also applied for an immediate injunction to stop him moving assets to a new Trump company, which he is allegedly trying to do, and to stop him continuing to commit fraud, which she also alleges he is still doing. Of course.

Contempt of Congress is more of a threat to lawyers. Some states disbar a lawyer charged with contempt of Congress. When Bill Barr was threatened because he ignored a subpoena he begged them not to charge him, and the soft bastards relented.

Oh, and Trump's appeal to the Supreme Court has been denied. He's having a bad few days.

He claimed he was in the FBI, he wasn't. He claimed he graduated from university with honours. He didn't graduate at all.
